Zhou Yongkang Arrest Ratchets Up Pressure in Graft Purge

(Beijing) – Sending shockwaves across China, the severity of the charges recently announced against Zhou Yongkang has brought attention back to the dozens of corruption probes placed over his former associates which have altered the political landscape over the course of a two-year graft clampdown.

Zhou, a former member of all-powerful Standing Committee of the Communist Party's Politburo, was put under judicial investigation after he was expelled from the party on Friday.
