Closer Look: Changing Hearts on the Organ Transplant System

(Beijing) – Beginning in January, China will abandon harvesting organs from executed prisoners, and organs needed for transplants will all come from donations, Huang Jiefu, former deputy minister of health told Caixin at an early December conference in Kunming. The announcement culminated a long road of advocacy, in which Huang was part of, to the end of the use of organs from executed prisoners.
