Scandal-Hit GlaxoSmithKline 'to Lay Off 1,000 Employees in China'

(Beijing) – The China operations of GlaxoSmithKline will lay off around 1,000 employees in 2015, several sources close to the company say, as the British drug maker deals with a sales slump in the aftermath of a bribe scandal.

GlaxoSmithKline (China) Investment Co. Ltd. did not confirm it plans to lay off employees when it was contacted by Caixin. The firm said it would not downsize its teams and would employ more workers.
