(Beijing) – An online statement calling for capital punishment across-the-board for child traffickers has gone viral on the social networking app WeChat in recent days, setting off heated debate over how to deal with a growing spate of child kidnappings in China.

The source of the WeChat article containing purported images of abducted children which was circulated some tens of thousands times has yet to be confirmed.
