Gov't Creates 50 Mln Yuan Fund for Groups Fighting HIV/AIDS

(Beijing) – The central government has earmarked 50 million yuan to support HIV/AIDS control, the first time public funds have been put toward non-governmental organizations dedicated to fighting the disease.

The HIV Prevention Fund was set up by the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the Ministry of Civil Affairs. It will be operated by the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, a government-affiliated civil group.
