(Beijing) – A former top aide to disgraced domestic security boss Zhou Yongkang who once appeared on national TV to admit leadership mistakes has gotten into hot water with the Communist Party's graft buster.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said on July 24 that it launched an inquiry into the party chief of the northern province of Hebei, Zhou Benshun, for serious violations of party discipline and the law, phrasing that usually means corruption. (Zhou and his former boss are not related.)
