Qingdao Court Agrees to Hear NGO's Lawsuit over Oil Spill

(Beijing) – A non-governmental organization has filed a lawsuit in the coastal city of Qingdao that seeks to have a major Chinese oil company and its U.S. partner clean up an oil spill that happened four years ago.

The NGO, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation, filed the lawsuit against state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) and ConocoPhillips Co. in a maritime court.
