Renmin University's President 'Close to Joining Central Bank'

(Beijing) – The president of one of China's top universities will become a deputy governor of the central bank, a post that could one day lead to becoming the country's representative at the International Monetary Fund, several people with knowledge of the matter say.
Chen Yulu, 49, has been vetted by the Communist Party's personnel department for the central bank position, the sources said, and the appointment is expected to be announced soon.
