Disgraced Officials 'Paying Bribes to Get Jail Terms Cut'

(Beijing) – Over 120 inmates who used to hold major government posts have paid to get paroles or have their sentences cut last year, the country's top prosecutor says.
Cao Jianming, director of Supreme People's Procuratorate, told legislators on November 2 that more than 2,200 prisoners, including 121 who once held high ranks, bribed prison and court officials to get paroled or have their sentences reduced in 2014
