CRC 'Plans to Start Running More Bullet Trains at Night'

(Beijing) – Debt-ridden China Railway Corp. (CRC) plans to start running bullet trains on overnight trips this year, an employee of the operator of the country's railroads says.
In the past, overnight high-speed trains have only been used to cope with demand during the travel rush for Spring Festival, the weeklong holiday many know as Chinese New Year.
The overnight trains will run at speed of 250 kph or faster, the CRC employee said. The bullet trains that run between Beijing and Shanghai travel at an average of 260 kph, data from the CRC show.
