State Cement Makers Merge, Form Global Giant

(Beijing) – A pair of construction materials suppliers will merge to form one of the world's largest cement makers as part of a government push to trim excess capacity among state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

The State Council approved the merger of state-run China National Building Materials Group Corp. (CNBM) and China National Materials Group Corp. Ltd., also known as Sinoma.
