Cai Qi Appointed Acting Mayor of Beijing

Cai Qi, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Communist Party’s National Security Commission, was appointed acting mayor of Beijing, replacing Wang Anshun, Beijing TV reported Monday.

Cai, born in December 1955 in Fujian province, has a doctoral degree in economics. He worked in Zhejiang province from 1999 to 2013 and was promoted to vice governor of Zhejiang in November 2013.
