It’s the latest in a string of rebukes against vaccine makers.
Chinese authorities have released draft regulations for the vaccine industry after Changchun Changsheng Life Sciences was accused of falsifying data and producing shoddy vaccines for infants, authorities announced on Sunday.
The rules would more closely monitor vaccines via a forthcoming online platform that will trace info related to production, transportation and inoculation, as well as heightening qualifications for those responsible for vaccine production, the draft says.
It also said vaccine companies that falsify data or produce unsafe vaccines will be fined between 1 million and 5 million yuan, or five to ten times of its product’s value. Changchun Changsheng itself was fined $1.3 billion less than a month ago.
