A fire at Hong Kong Baptist University injured at least 12 students Thursday morning, South China Morning Post reported.
The fire broke out around 1 a.m. during a birthday celebration, where about 20 students had gathered in one student’s on-campus dorm, when someone spread flour on the floor while candles on a cake were lit.
The injured students, aged 18 to 23, were taken to Queen Elizabeth and Kwong Wah Hospitals, and firefighters put out the flames. An initial police investigation found nothing suspect about the fire, according to SCMP.
