Oppo Debuts Foldable Phone to Take On Samsung

(Nikkei Asia) — Oppo Co. Ltd. has unveiled its first-ever foldable smartphone and in-house designed chip as the world’s No. 4 smartphone maker pushes to compete with Samsung and other early leaders in this new phone segment.

Oppo joins a string of global smartphone makers releasing foldable handsets to stimulate a mature market that has for years seen only marginal upgrades, such as new mobile processors, better casing materials or more advanced cameras.
