U.S. Sanctions Chinese Companies and One Individual for Fentanyl Trafficking

Four Chinese drug companies and one Chinese individual were sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department under an executive order signed Wednesday by President Joe Biden intended to combat illicit trade in fentanyl that’s blamed for the rise of American opioid overdoses. China blasted the move.
The companies are Wuhan Yuancheng Gongchuang Technology Co. Ltd., Shanghai Fast-Fine Chemicals Co. Ltd., Hebei Huanhao Biotechnology Co. Ltd. and Hebei Atun Trading Co. Ltd., the Treasury Department said on its website.
