China slashes fuel export quota in first 2022 allotment

China reduced its fuel export quota by more than half in the first batch of allocations for 2022 as the country moves to curb excess domestic refinery production and carbon emissions, Bloomberg reported. Allotments totaling 13 million tons were issued, the news service reported. That’s 56% less than 29.5 million tons in the first batch for 2021.
