Exclusive: Trillion-Dollar China Everbright Picks Chief of World’s No. 2 Bank as Its New Chair

State-owned financial conglomerate China Everbright Group Ltd. has appointed president of China Construction Bank Corp. (CCB) as its new chairman, sources with knowledge of the matter told Caixin.

Wang Jiang, 58, who is also a former president of Bank of China Ltd., had been hired as CCB’s president just over a year ago in February 2021. Shanghai- and Hong Kong-listed CCB is the world’s second-largest commercial bank by assets.
