China vowed to stick with its dynamic Zero-Covid approach as the country faces by far its biggest outbreak since the early days of the pandemic.

The goal of the approach is to bring the pandemic under control in the shortest possible time with minimum cost to society, Wang Hesheng, vice director of the National Health Commission (NHC) and administrator of the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration, said Friday at a press conference. The policy includes imposing travel restrictions, lockdowns and mass testing in response to outbreaks.
