Chairman and CEO of Perfect World Pictures Dies at 48

Lian Jie, chairman and chief executive officer of Chinese entertainment company Perfect World Pictures, died of illness earlier this week, Caixin learned from company sources.

Lian, 48, stepped down as CEO of the movie and game conglomerate for health reasons while continuing his duties in subsidiary companies, Shenzhen-traded Perfect World said Monday in a filing with the stock exchange. Word of Lian’s death circulated Tuesday.
