Revised Sports Law Ushers in New Arbitration System for China’s Athletes

Revisions to China’s sports law will see increased oversight of event organizers and the establishment of an arbitration system for professional athletes, as the current legal safeguards are insufficient to protect their rights.
On Friday, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) approved the most substantial amendments to the Law on Physical Culture and Sports since it was first enacted in 1995.
