Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden had a “candid and in-depth” phone discussion on bilateral relations and issues with mutual interests Thursday, according to China’s state broadcaster.

The conversation was the fifth time the two leaders have conferred since Biden took office in 2021 and the first since March. The call lasted about 2 hours and 20 minutes, concluding at 10:50 p.m. Beijing time, according to the White House.
