Ying Yong, who was parachuted into the leadership of Hubei province amid its Covid-19 outbreak, was named deputy chief of the country’s top prosecutor last week, according to the official Xinhua News Agency.

The Supreme People’s Procuratorate’s website lists the 64-year-old as its deputy procurator-general, deputy Communist Party secretary and first-level prosecutor, which is one level below the chief prosecutor, a position currently held by 66-year-old judicial veteran Zhang Jun.
