Xi Briefs Central Committee on Party Congress Work Report

What’s new: President Xi Jinping briefed a Sunday plenary session of the Communist Party’s Central Committee on a draft work report to be presented to the 20th National Congress, the Xinhua News Agency reported, paving the way for the highly anticipated conclave that kicks off in less than a week.

During the meeting of the Central Committee, of which Xi is general secretary, Politburo member Wang Huning explained draft amendments to the party’s constitution, Xinhua reported without elaboration.
