Chinese Academic Institute President Named Head of United Front Work Department

What’s new: Shi Taifeng, president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and former deputy president of the Central Party School, has been named the new head of the United Front Work Department (UFWD).

Shi’s appointment was announced in an article the UFWD published on its website Thursday addressing him as head of the department, which is under the Communist Party’s Central Committee.
