Chip Designer Loongson Fends Off Lawsuit Over Its First Self-Developed CPU

After a four-year legal battle, a Beijing court has ruled that chip designer Loongson Technology Corp. Ltd.’s (688047.SH) first self-developed processor did not violate the intellectual property (IP) rights of U.S. firm MIPS Technologies Inc.
The Beijing Intellectual Property Court determined that Loongson Technology’s 3A5000 processor did not infringe on the MIPS Technologies’ chip architecture IP, according to the court’s ruling.
