Opinion: U.S.-China Trade Decoupling Is Underway

Since 2019, the question whether China’s economy will decouple from the West has been a subject of great debate.
One side says it’s impossible for the West to decouple from China because of the Asian country’s dominant position in global supply chains. Their detractors say decoupling is a foregone conclusion and will do great damage to the Chinese economy. After four years of such talk, who’s right?
