A flying car developed by a unit of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. Ltd. moved a step closer to taking to the sky as authorities initiated an airworthiness examination.

Geely-backed Aerofugia said Thursday that the Civil Aviation Administration of China convened a type certificate board (TCB) meeting in Chengdu, Sichuan province, where the company is based.
