Recently, I got word from a friend that a mutual acquaintance ours, Lawrence Pietersen, had suddenly died. He was only 62, and his passing came as a shock to both of us. I had met Lawrence two or three times about five years ago in Johannesburg, South Africa. He, as well as the extraordinary tour he accompanied me on, has left an indelible mark in my memory.
