(Bloomberg) — The European Commission is dialing up pressure on member nations to stop using telecom equipment from the Chinese companies Huawei Technologies Co. and ZTE Corp. in their most advanced mobile networks, explicitly labeling the companies for the first time as “high-risk” vendors.

The Commission is also banning Huawei and ZTE from its communications systems.
