China’s Top Graft Buster Ramps Up Internal Anti-Corruption Efforts

A senior publicity official with the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) has been placed under investigation by the country’s top graft buster, becoming the latest CCDI official to get caught up in China’s sweeping corruption crackdown.
Hao Zongqiang, deputy head of the CCDI’s publicity department, is suspected of “serious violations of (Communist Party) discipline and law,” a common euphemism for corruption, according to a brief statement published Sunday by the commission.
