China Bolsters Law to Resolve Disputes Between Government and Its Citizens

China is seeking to expand the scope of a law that’s applied to resolving disputes between the government and its citizens, according to a draft amendment of the law released Wednesday, as the country aims for a “fair and efficient” system for solving such cases.

The draft revision of the Administrative Reconsideration Law also intends to strengthen the power of relevant consultative committees, which consist of government personnel, experts and scholars that provide advisory opinions for handling these disputes.
