Listen to the full version

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is set to visit China this week, fewer than three weeks after Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s trip to Beijing last month.
China's Ministry of Finance confirmed early Monday that Yellen’s visit will take place from Thursday to Sunday. The news triggered a strong response in the capital market. All three major A-share indexes in China opened high and closed with gains. The Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.31%, the largest daily gain in nearly two months. The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong also climbed more than 2%, and the yuan briefly appreciated by more than 150 points during the morning.
