What’s new: A kindergarten attack has left six people dead and one injured in Lianjiang, South China’s Guangdong province, with at least one child among the casualties, local officials told Caixin.

On Monday morning, Lianjiang police issued a statement saying they had arrested the suspect — a 25-year-old man surnamed Wu, who is a native of the area.

The “intentional assault” that took place in Hengshan town at 7:40 a.m. is still under investigation, the statement said, without providing details such as the exact location of the incident and victims’ identities.
