A senior official overseeing the rural credit system in southwest China’s Guizhou province was placed under investigation as part of an anti-corruption crackdown sweeping through the sprawling financial networks that serve the vast countryside.
Ma Linbo, Communist Party chief and chairman of the Guizhou Rural Credit Union, is being probed “on suspicion of serious violation of law and discipline,” the province’s anti-graft watchdog said. Ma, 55, has headed the provincial rural credit union since 2021.
