Alibaba Cloud Offers Free Access to New AI-Training Software

What’s new: Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.’s cloud computing unit is releasing two large language models (LLMs) for open-sourcing, giving developers free access to use the software, which can help with creating generative artificial intelligence (AI) applications, the company said.

Alibaba Cloud’s models, dubbed Qwen-7B and Qwen-7B-Chat, were each pre-trained on 7 billion parameters and are smaller versions of Tongyi Qianwen, the LLM it launched in April, according to a company statement on Thursday. Qwen-7B-Chat is a fined-tuned version of Qwen-7B, designed for human-like conversation applications.
