Bruno Le Maire, France’s minister for the economy and finance, visited China last month, joining Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng to co-chair the ninth China-France High-Level Economic and Financial Dialogue from July 29 to 31.

Le Maire, a former diplomat who also holds the Industry and Digital Sovereignty portfolios under the presidency of Emmanuel Macron, spoke exclusively to Caixin ahead of the talks. The interview follows below.
