What’s new: A fire at a coal mine in southwestern China’s Guizhou province killed 16 people Sunday morning, the local government said.
The mine is owned by Shanghai-traded Guizhou Panjiang Refined Coal Co. Ltd. (600395.SH), part of state-owned Guizhou Energy Group. The operation was penalized several times since 2018 for administrative and production safety violations, according to public information.
