Former Beijing Health Chief Sentenced to 11 Years for Bribery

What’s new: Beijing’s former health chief Yu Luming has been sentenced to 11 years in prison and fined 1 million yuan ($137,000) for accepting millions of yuan in bribes.
A court in neighboring Hebei province handed down the sentence on Tuesday, six months after Yu pleaded guilty to taking 10.5 million yuan in bribes in exchange for help with issues including securing hospital project contracts and land use rights.
