Opinion: Beijing’s Stance on the Decades-Long Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

On Oct. 7, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, or Hamas, launched a sudden assault on Israel under the code name “Al-Aqsa Flood,” shocking the world.

Around 1,200 Israelis were killed in the attack, most of whom were civilians, and some 240 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage. Israel initiated a counter-attack, with reports from Gaza indicating that over 11,000 residents have died in the conflict.
