A former chairman of state-owned financial conglomerate China Everbright Group Ltd. has been expelled from the Communist Party for a litany of misconduct that included taking bribes and abusing his authority to promote his own works of art, China’s top corruption watchdog announced Saturday.

Tang Shuangning, 69, who was also Everbright Group’s top party official, “weakened the party’s leadership over state-owned enterprises, and performed inadequately in preventing and resolving financial risks,” the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said in the announcement.
