Former China Olympic Official Jailed for 11 Years for Accepting Bribes

A retired official from China’s top sports regulator who led team preparations for the Olympics, including the most recent games in Tokyo and Beijing, was sentenced last month to 11 years in prison for accepting nearly 24 million yuan ($3.4 million) in bribes, according to a judicial document seen by Caixin.
Liu Aijie, a former director of the Preparation Office for the Olympic Games of the General Administration of Sport (GAS), was also fined 2 million yuan by the Hebi Intermediate People’s Court in Central China’s Henan province, according to the document provided by an anonymous source.
