Beijing Condemns Taiwan for Deaths of Mainland Fishermen

Beijing has condemned Taiwan authorities for chasing away a Chinese mainland fishing boat in the Taiwan Strait on Wednesday, causing the vessel to capsize and two crew members to drown, state media reported.

The State Council’s Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO) expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and demanded the island investigate the incident, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported Wednesday, quoting the office’s spokesperson Zhu Fenglian.
