As Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Singapore approaches, some have asked why the city-state’s rivals in the rest of Asia, such as Hong Kong, are missing out on the global superstar’s concerts, along with all the economic benefits that come with them.

Singapore will be Swift’s only stop in Southeast Asia in 2024 and only the second in Asia after her Tokyo show in February, according to the website of the blockbuster tour. Swift will play six consecutive shows at Singapore’s National Stadium from March 2 to March 9. More than 300,000 tickets have already been sold.
