Local graft busters in Southwest China’s Guizhou province have launched probes into two officials linked to a contractor who was arrested after trying to recover unpaid fees from a district government.

Wang Erbin, former governor of Liupanshui city’s Shuicheng county, which changed to Shuicheng district in 2020, and ex-director of the management committee of a local tourist resort, is suspected of “serious violations of the law,” according to a statement published Tuesday by the city’s discipline inspection commission.
