Authorities Warn Deadly South China Floods May Get Worse

After flooding that has killed at least four people, left 10 missing, and forced tens of thousands of people from their homes in South China, a heightened disaster warning has been issued as the authorities warn of worse to come.
The Ministry of Water Resources has elevated its emergency response level for Guangdong, stating that the Beijiang River, which flows through a number of cities in the province, will witness further “massive flooding,” according to a Saturday statement.
