Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest economy, is turning into a critical entry point for Chinese drugmakers looking to expand overseas.

However, the archipelago nation has presented them with challenges, along with the opportunities.

Chinese drug producers have been under mounting pressure to find new sources of growth abroad as government measures to lower drug prices have squeezed profit margins. Indonesia presents possibilities.
