U.S. Tops China’s Lithium Battery Exports, With Surge in Power Storage

The United States is still the largest overseas market for China’s lithium-ion batteries, making up a quarter of the country’s more than $60 billion in exports last year, according to customs data.

China exported more than 3.9 billion lithium-ion batteries in 2024, an 8.1% increase from the previous year, the General Administration of Customs (GAC) reported. However, the export value fell by 6% year-on-year to $611.2 billion.
