Recently, the highly anticipated Fuyao University of Science and Technology in Fujian province got the go ahead to open its doors. Initiated by entrepreneur Cao Dewang, the Heren Charitable Foundation initially donated 10 billion yuan ($1.38 billion) to launch the school. The inaugural president is Professor Wang Shuguo. The university offers four undergraduate programs: computer science, intelligent manufacturing, vehicle engineering, and material science and engineering. The initial enrollment is set for 8,000 students.
