Beijing Targets Judicial Misconduct With New Prosecutorial Unit

China’s top prosecutorial body has established a new department to investigate crimes committed by judicial officials, a significant step aimed at tackling misconduct within the country’s vast legal and security apparatus.
The Supreme People’s Procuratorate, or SPP, announced in a statement on Tuesday that its Criminal Enforcement Procuratorate Department would now also operate under the title of the “Procuratorial Investigation Department.”
